Matthew Mather Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On Sunday, September 11th, our dear friend and colleague Matthew Mather suffered a seizure while driving home from walking his dog. During the seizure his car veered, rolled and hit a tree, leaving him stuck inside. Among other injuries, he suffered a fractured sternum, ankle and sustained internal injuries that required surgery. The Doctors are still working to understand the cause of Matthews's seizure.
After eight days of stabilizing at Boulder Community Hospital and a week of inpatient care at a local hospital, he is receiving treatment at home and attending physical therapy. A full recovery is expected at a later time.
As a wine industry professional, the majority of Matthews's income is earned in the form of actively curating private cellars and working with national partners to sell wine. Although his insurance will cover some of his medical expenses, he will incur a substantial financial burden compacted by taking time off work to recover.
If you can assist Matthew with his medical expenses, please donate any way you can.
Thank you.
p.s. for GoFundMe: Matt is from BC, Canada and has lived in Boulder, CO for 19 years. Everyone donating money is a dear friend, guest, caring supporter and/or colleague. The funds will be used to pay substantial medical bills and my cost of living for up to 3 months - it will be used for those purposes only.
