Matthew ‘Matt’ Carney Fundraiser

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As many of you know, our dear friend Matt Carney was involved in a hit-and-run on the evening of Wednesday, 6/19/24, in the parking lot of his restaurant, Smokin Thighs. Matt sustained serious chest and head trauma and was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center for emergency surgery to reduce the swelling in his brain.

We are incredibly grateful to the staff at Smokin Thighs, who responded so quickly, as well as the paramedics and emergency room providers, the surgeons, and all the staff at VMC. Matt responded well to the surgery but remains on a ventilator in stable yet critical condition. He has a very long road ahead, but we are all praying for a full recovery.

The incident is under investigation, but the perpetrator has not yet been identified. To bring justice for Matt and his family, we are offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the identification of the individual responsible. We are seeking your help to raise these funds and more.

We have set up this GoFundMe page to collect donations for the $10,000 reward. Any additional funds raised will go directly to help Matt’s wife, Molly, with the mounting medical bills and expenses during this incredibly difficult time.
