Matthew Needs An Accessible Van

The Croutch Family is reaching out to our amazing community to rally behind Matthew, a talented author and beloved member of our family. Matthew's journey with cerebral palsy has been one of resilience and inspiration, but he faces significant challenges in accessing the opportunities he deserves.

Currently, Matthew's options for getting around are extremely limited and far from ideal. He relies on public transportation, which is often unreliable and impractical, especially for longer trips such as road trips or vacations. Accessible taxis, when available, come with their own set of issues – he's left hoping the drivers are properly trained to secure his wheelchair, and unfortunately, that's not always the case. It's not just about physical discomfort; it's about the stress and uncertainty that come with every journey.

Traveling with his manual chair is a burden on both Matthew and his support system. It's not always feasible for friends and family to accommodate his chair in their vehicles, adding strain and inconvenience to what should be simple outings.

But here's where we come in! We're coming together to raise funds for a wheelchair-accessible van. With this vehicle, Matthew will not only be able to attend events to showcase his work but also make it to medical appointments and other essential commitments without barriers. Imagine the freedom and independence a van like this would provide – not just for Matthew, but for our entire family.
