Matthew Ramsey Car Accident Support

Hi, my name is Abby and I’m raising money to help my friends, Matthew and Amanda Ramsey.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, around 1:30am, Matt was struck by a vehicle that ran a red light.

The crash was MASSIVE and caused multiple fractures and other musculoskeletal issues that require multiple surgeries. We are so very grateful that Matt is alive, despite his multiple injuries.

He ended up with a broken wrist, broken arm, fractured knee, and blew out his ACL & MCL. He has a few more surgeries in the future, and as of right now has only had his arm and wrist operated on. They must both heal more and be stronger before they will schedule Matt for surgeries to address his left leg injuries.

Matt is off work with FMLA currently, and we are grateful that he will still have a job to return to, but the FMLA is unpaid. At this point, they have no income coming in.

Amanda has been blessed to be able to stay at home with Jaxson, which has absolutely helped him THRIVE in Fort Wayne. He has multiple therapy appointments each week that help him grow and Amanda has been able to build a support system with other Autism moms in the community.

Matt has always worked outside the home and done whatever was necessary to support his family financially, including being the sole provider so that Amanda can stay home with Jaxson.

We don’t know when Matt will be able to return to work, but we do know their monthly bills will continue to come.

Anything you are able to give is appreciated. It’s uncomfortable for both Matt and Amanda to ask others for money, but times like these are what friends are for.

We are asking for a lot because of so many unknowns. Hopefully they won’t need that much, but with regular bills and Christmas coming up, we wanted them to feel comfortable financially and like they have a safety net in case it takes longer for Matt to get back to work.

Anything raised will go directly to Matt and Amanda. They will be using the money to pay monthly bills, such as their mortgage, phones, internet, utilities, car and health insurance, gas money, and any medical costs and copays.
