12/3 UPDATE: “PRAY FOR AND EXPECT MIRACLES” ✨✨✨ Matthew woke up tonight!! Jeffrey Jessop and Caleb Compton had an emotional moment in the room by his bedside that turned funny and Matthew heard Jeff, and then repeated what he said through a cough since he has a feeding tube. Surprised, Jeff and Caleb laughed and it was just what Caleb needed to hear his dad after so long. The two had a good laugh, Matthew heard them but his eyes were closed and he didn’t wake up. Shortly after, Heather went back to stay with him for the end of the evening and we just got this update from her: Matthew woke up and talked to us before we left for the night. He said his eye hurt, so we turned off the light. Then he opened his eyes and was looking at us we told him we loved him and he said I love you. Then he said he’s going to be ok.

Thank you everyone! Your prayers were heard and the Lord’s will was done. Matthew is awake!

UPDATE: Not gonna lie, lots of tears were shed. Every solution has caused further bleeding which then clogs as it’s trying to drain out through the spinal column. The doctor’s have said there is nothing further they can do for Matthew, other then keep him comfortable and out of pain. Jeffrey Jessop, Jim Knight, Jeff Lewis, and Jason Williams were there to administer a priesthood blessing. More importantly they were and are Matthew’s lifelong best friends, united in faith, supporting Heather and their children to know and seek the Lord’s will for Matthew’s life. In hope and faith, a priesthood blessing was administered. The spirit in the room was so strong. Thank you for your support and continued prayers today ✨✨

Hi, my name is Mardee and I am a friend of Matthew and Heather Compton. I’m starting this go fund me fundraiser to help offset the medical and personal expenses incurred from the tragic brain hemorrhage Matthew experienced on November 22, 2023 in Idaho while enjoying the holidays with his kids.

Matthew has suffered from the lifetime effects of severe hemophilia. He has endured countless bleeds, living in and out of a wheelchair most of his life, and injuries both to the body and brain.

In recent years, modern medicine has allowed medication to help Matthew survive simple, and complex surgeries. Unfortunately, the risks for survival are always very high for someone like Matthew.

Despite everything that Matthew has endured throughout his life, everyone who knows him well, knows that he is by far one of the most loyal friends you’ll ever find. When our daughter was brain injured at age 3, Matthew drove my husband, and his friend Jeff, to the hospital and never left our side. How could we not try to return the favor and help support Matthew at this time?

Everywhere Matthew goes he collects friends. He’s never let his disability get in the way. He married his love Heather and together they raised three amazing children, Joshua, Mikayla and Caleb who will be married next month. Having children and a family is sometimes considered an unattainable luxury to many with severe hemophilia, but for Matthew it was a dream come true. He has also been successful in business, giving back to his church and community, supporting other hemophiliacs all over the nation, and we can’t forget his love of cars - a love story of its own :)

Simply put-Matthew and Heather are being hit hard right now. This will absolutely, negatively effect them financially between medical bills and personal expenses being so far away from home. He was originally in Rexburg, Idaho, transferred to the Idaho Falls hospital and later airlifted to Salt Lake City, Utah, but currently live in Arizona. Furthermore, Heather has had to stop working to be 100% available to Matthew’s complicated care, coordinating with doctors from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City.

If you know the Compton’s, you know they are private and would never ask friends for this kind of help but they are exactly the kind of people that will always be there for you for whatever you need, just like they were with our daughter.

Please do what you can, Jeff and I know the economy is hard on everyone right now. Anything will help, especially your prayers. We believe that united in faith and prayer, miracles will never cease.

Love & hugs to all…thank you,

Mardee & Jeff Jessop
