**Also read updates** Most of you that know Matt will now be aware that he is in Dublin hospital, fighting for his life. He travelled over to Ireland just before Christmas with his wife Philomena and his kids to visit family. He had been feeling unwell and had been in bed with what he thought was a cold or flu. However, his condition deteriorated rapidly, and he was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Dublin. Doctors initially didn't know what was happening to him but they eventually diagnosed him as having Strep A, Influenza A plus, Pneumonia, and also developed Sepsis, and has been on life support since Christmas. His condition is still critical over a month later, though he is in a better place than he was initially. Being in Dublin and living in Barnsley is quickly incurring expenses for flights, accommodation and general costs for his family to visit him, along with household bills, two young children to support, and with Matt being self-employed, he's going to need some help. Matt has many good friends, and those that know him well know that he is the salt of the Earth, he will help anyone with anything, and he is funny, kind, caring and an absolute pleasure to be around. He is also a proud family provider, a true grafter and often sacrifices lengthy periods away from home to make sure his wife and kids are well cared for, often working on the other side of the World. The work he does is heavy engineering, sometimes out at sea on exploration rigs and is very physically demanding, and is one of the many reasons we need to help him along his road to recovery. The money raised is to give financial support to Matt and his family during this difficult time and will be paid directly to his wife, Philomena. His sister Melissa has now been added to the page and will be posting regular updates on Matt's progress, as she will be visiting him regularly so please check on here rather than sending direct messages to Matt's family. Fully appreciate many people aren't exactly flush this time of year so all donations, no matter how small are very much appreciated and will go a long way towards helping Matt get over this awful situation. Thank you x
