Help Matt Wolf and family

Donation protected

Matthew Wolf had just retired from the Army on 7/31/15.  Matt had served in the Marines for 4 years and the Army for 21 years, 12 years  of which were in  Special Forces.  He was in good physical shape after retiring and looked forward to working as a contractor and spending quality time with his family.  He was so excited to begin this new chapter in his life.

But on 8/8/15, at 3pm, a brand new, unexpected chapter began in Matt's life.   He had just finished riding on a charity ride that morning and was returning home.  He was a couple of  miles from his new home in NC and was struck, while on  his motorcycle , by a DRUNK driver.  Matt was airlifted immediately to UNC Chapel Hill with extensive left leg and hand injuries.  This accident was of no fault of his own.  He underwent three surgeries to place two rods in his leg and reconstruct his foot.  His foot was basically "dust" according to the MD.  He was told walking again would be difficult, running probably impossible and his leg would be deformed and he may have a limp .  He will likely not be able to continue the type of work that he wanted to do post military.  ALL DUE TO A DRUNK DRIVER!!!!  Matt is tough, strong and determined and has already exceeded the doctors expections while in the hospital.  I am sure that he will do so in the future, but physically he will never be what he was. This will be very hard for him.

The Wolf family has been forever changed and altered. The post military family life will not be what was hoped or planned for.   The plans set in place need to be reevalauted. All due to one man's bad decision.

They are needing help with keeping this family going financially, while both Matt, and his wife, Kari are unable to work during the forseable future.  Kari is an RN and would like to be with him throughout his recovery and rehab, rather than rushing back to work and leave him alone each day. They also need help with the legal fees so that they can have to resources to fight this drunk driver and try to keep him off the streets forever.  This man needs to be stopped so that no other people are hurt or killed by him.  There will be added expenses in relationship to medical supplies, help around house and  so many more things that are not even known at this point.

Asking for money and help is very humbling for this family but they will more than appreciate each dollar and will use it responsibly.  If you cannot give financially, please say a prayer for Matt and his family.  They need it now and in the future.
