Help support Matthews family with funeral and care costs

Donation protected
On Saturday 8th March, Matthew was on his way home when he was involved in a traffic collision in Liverpool city centre. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Matthew initially responded well to treatment and his family and friends were hopeful he’d make a recovery. Tragically he lost his battle on Tuesday 11th March.

About Matthew
Matthew (also known as Matt or Matty to his friends) was truly one of a kind. Matt was a pure soul with a heart of gold. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend.

Matt loved his music. He would always share music suggestions to his friends and talk about his favourite bands. During the night of the incident, he spent the night with one of his friends at a concert. He loved every moment of it.

Matt was a cheeky chap and the life and soul of his friendship group. He has provided his friends with so many laughs and memories that will last a lifetime.

At home, Matt was a full time carer for his mum, who suffers with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). After obtaining a degree in psychology, Matt dedicated his adulthood to taking care of his mum, which is a testament to his character. Not only has she lost her son, she has lost her designated carer.

Matthew will be remembered as the beautiful, caring, loving, and fun person that he was. He will never be forgotten.

How you can help
His family and friends are understandably shocked and heartbroken with this news. As they navigate this unimaginable loss, we want to come together to support his family by raising funds to help cover funeral costs, and to support Matthew’s mum with future care.

We would greatly appreciate any donations to support Matt’s family in their time of need. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page to spread this message would also be greatly appreciated.

3 Peaks Challenge
In honour of Matthew, a number of his friends have decided to attempt the 3 peaks challenge. The goal is to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales within 24 hours. If you would like to follow us on this journey, please follow this page for updates.

Any donations made will go straight to the family.
