Matt's Post Stroke Recovery

I'm Aaron Husul and I never pictured myself in this situation but I am here asking for your help and thanking those of you that have already shared this page, donated money, or sent notes of support.

My brother Matt has had a medical emergency and will be off of work for the foreseeable future. His wonderful girlfriend will have to take time off to help him recover as well. Jessica is taking this challenge on with the same courage and determination as Matthew.

Matt trained and studied to become a certified dog behavior/obedience instructor (and an expert trick trainer) and recently started his own business. Just as his business began to grow Matt suffered a stroke.

The event happened while they were across the country and this has added even more financial pressure. Right now we need Matty and Jessica to concentrate on rehabilitation and not finances. This is so essential to his recovery. We also need to get him transported home when the time is appropriate. They have been quoted $60,000 just for a MedEvac to get home. Their overall expenses will be tremendous. I still do not have any idea what this goal should be set at.

Our families are contributing a lot but they still need our help.

If Matthew or Jessica has touched your life and you would like to help them we would really appreciate your support. They moved away and started a great life together and I think we need to help them so they don't have to worry about losing what they have built together.

Matt's our son, brother, friend, cousin, nephew, uncle, and everyone's favorite hockey goalie and we love him and just want to help.

Update Thursday July 27

Matt is speaking perfectly and and has regained most of his memory. He is still facing many stroke related symptoms and this is an extremely critical time.

He is not able to fly or be transported on land yet.

Once again he sends his best to all his loved ones and supporters and Jessica is thanking everyone from the bottom of her heart.
