Matty Symons Celebration Fund

The South Carolina Brewers Guild has established this fund in remembrance and celebration of the life of Matty Symons of Two Blokes Brewing in Mount Pleasant. Matty passed away on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 and is survived by his wife Evelyn Kofler and daughter Nara. The Guild will provide all funds raised to help the family through this difficult time.
Matty was a force and a valued member of the South Carolina brewing community. He was an accomplished brewer with over 20 years of experience. He studied brewing technology and methodology at Siebel Institute of Technology, America’s oldest brewing school. A native of Melbourne, Australia, he studied business and economics at La Trobe University and applied science at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
After a number of years running a successful photography business in Melbourne and London, England, he moved to the United States. He relocated to Charleston in 2007 and worked at Blackbaud for nine years. He then co-founded Two Blokes Brewing in 2016. This year, Two Blokes will celebrate its fourth anniversary of serving great beers in Mount Pleasant.
