Maughan Family Cancer Rescue Fund

Our dear friend and neighbor was faced with some impossible news this year and their family could use our help. Bryan Maughan is a loving father, husband and grandfather and after months of declining health and rising concern from his loved ones, he broke several ribs and ended up in the ER. After undergoing testing, the doctors gave him 24 hours to live because his kidneys were at failure. But Bryan is a fighter and surprised everyone by waking up the next morning. After further testing, they received the heart-breaking diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma - an aggressive blood cancer. Multiple Myeloma eats the bones and releases excessive calcium into the blood—too much for the kidneys to handle. The Maughan family now faces the journey of chemo and treatments toward Bryan's improved health. Although there is no cure for Multiple Myeloma, treatments have made the cancer manageable, but not without its enormous and ever growing costs.

This is a reality no family wishes to face. With a depleted savings, growing medical bills and living expenses, their family also needs immediate help with travel expenses to and from out-of-state hospitals and many supplemental nutritional needs to keep Bryan's organs functioning.
