Maui 1st Responder's Home Burned

Terri and Ziggy are writing this on behalf of their dear friend Hala MacKnight and his family. The funds will be used to rebuild his home and Ohana, already just a partial cleanup of the property has cost $51,000 because the fire was so hot it melted everything together and created toxins; the insurance company is claiming it will not cover a large portion of the costs to rebuild. Please help them rebuild and get back home!

Hala is a local First Responder/Officer and single father of 3 beautiful children. They have been displaced for over a month now since the fires on Maui burned part of their home, completely destroyed their Ohana and most of their property. Our dear friend Hala was one of the first people called up to help during these devastating fires and worked to help others while his own home burned and was left uninhabitable. The insurance companies are already saying they will only cover about a third of the cost to repair and rebuild. Public servants do not make a lot of income and it is very expensive to live on Maui. The income from the rental of his Ohana was used to just make ends meet each month and now that is lost. The police force on Maui is already stretched thin and does not have enough officers for the day-to-day functions. Most of them work many hours of over-time to cover the shifts. Recently this has been even more trying for them with the fires. Please support this lovely family and help them to rebuild. We need to support our First Responders so they are able to live on the island and do not have to move away.
