Maui Family In Need
Donation protected
Aloha, and thank you for being here! My name is Mady Parker and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of the Guth family who have lost their home in the Maui wildfires.
My connection to the Guths goes back to UH Mānoa days when I first met Kalei. It was our freshman year of college and we were just getting to know each other on the women’s water polo team. Kalei is the type of person who just absolutely exudes love and aloha. Throughout our time at UH together, her family would fly over and show up in the stands at home games to cheer us on and feed us afterward. Win or lose, someone was always there to support and yell “Go ‘bows!” from the stands.
I got to know her family better over the years and was even fortunate enough to visit their homestead in Lāhainā. Her home was filled with memories and always had plenty of space available for those wanting to come over or those in need.
She and her family lost their homes in the devastating wildfires. Even in this terrifying and uncertain time, Kalei is out in the community doing her best to make sure everyone is taken care of. I know she would never ask for financial support because she’s the type of person who believes that if she has her family then she has everything she needs. So I’m asking for help on her behalf! The Guth family may have lost their house, but Lāhainā will always be home to them and I know that they’ll not only use these funds to cover basic emergency expenses for themselves but also for others. They’re on the front lines helping and will be there when the dust settles working to rebuild. I can’t think of a more wonderful way to help Maui than to support the Guths and all of the funds will go directly to them. They are the definition of aloha and I humbly ask that you contribute what you can to their ‘ohana in this time of need.
