Maui Fire - Cairns Family

You may know me as Chef Michael Cairns, from the hospitality industry, and from the many places Darlene and I have lived, including Napa, Phoenix, Atlanta, Bay Area, Fresno, Philly, NJ and .... our home, MAUI.

When I married Darlene 30 years ago, her family became my family, and her beloved Maui became the place we truly call home. We met as co-workers at the Grand Wailea Resort in 1991. When I married Darlene -- a native of Maui and proud descendant of longtime Pacific Islanders -- I made a forever commitment to this island and its people.

While our home remains ok, sadly, many of our relatives are not so fortunate. Among our extended family, we've lost loved ones, co-workers, friends, pets and any semblance of normal life.

We're asking for your help for Four Beloved Families of Relatives who lost their homes. They're currently living in temporary housing, trying to sleep on floors and survive the chaos and uncertainty. Within the four families, there are seven children ranging in age from 9 to 16; four adults; and one elder. They have lost everything -- every cellphone, laptop, school supplies, clothing, food, beds, blankets, towels, hygiene products, etc.

There is tremendous need and we're asking for your help to assist our devastated family members. Anything you can give will go directly to assist these families in getting life essentials and surviving the immediate crisis.

I continue to dedicate my professional services to major charities who are helping feed the masses ... however, this is personal. I need your help to assist my Family. Mahalo and thank you for your friendship.
