Maui Fire Disaster support for the Ramos family

August 8, 2023-a date that’ll haunt me down for as long as I live.

Lahaina is a town located in West Maui and known for its historic buildings & iconic Banyan Tree, was our HOME for almost 2 decades with great memories created together. But, in just a matter of hours, who would’ve thought that a Tuesday afternoon would changed our lives forever.

The effect of Hurricane Dora caused Lahaina to have such a strong wind gust of about 60mph which then created a brush fire destroying hundreds of homes including ours. Up to now, I’m still hoping it‘s just a bad dream and want to wake up from it but oh God It’s real! Everything we, especially my parents, had built and worked hard for over the years were all lost and turned into ashes.

Seeing my mom, Nita, safe that day and finding out my dad, Wilfren Homer, got out alive after 24 miserable hours of searching makes me to still be Grateful and Thankful for. Having both of my parents with me right now (It could’ve been worse) is what matters.

I am doing this fundraiser mainly for them because I want them to somehow rebuild their lives back together. Without my parents, who taught me about life and kindness, I am nothing today.
