Burgos Family Maui Fire Survivors #LahainaStrong

Hi, my name is Bryan Burgos son of Rommel and Jocelyn Burgos. My family was one of the families devastated by the fire in Maui, Hawaii. I am starting this fundraiser because we are unsure of how long rebuilding is going to take.

Before Lahaina went into flames my family was just like any other family who resided in Lahaina. My father commuted from Lahaina to Kahului to work at Maui Disposal. My mother worked for the community's convenience store. My sister goes to college at the University of Hawaii Manoa. We were living a happy, worry-free life. When the fire started my dad was working and got stuck at work due to the roads being closed off into Lahaina. My mother and sister were stuck at their house frantically trying to get to the safe zone. They had to navigate through the fire, on their own, with our dog and the clothes on their back. They were terrified. All lines of contact were not available so my dad couldn't even check on them to make sure they were safe. Once they got to the safe location. When the roads opened, they were finally able to get back to our home or what used to be our home. We were completely distraught that there was nothing left. Everything had been burned down to the base. Our home has been in our family for 50+ years. It was last passed down to my parents from my grandparents and we have lived there since. Seven generations of Lahainaluna Alumnis' have lived in this house. Seven generations of memories and photos are gone. Our home has been destroyed and we are beyond devastated and left with nothing. We are asking for donations to help us navigate our lives through this difficult time. My family has lost everything. The only thing they have are the clothes on their back. We are asking for donations to help us get through this difficult time. Anything will help, even a simple share of this fundraiser will be greatly appreciated.
