Maui Firefighter Loses His Home - Kai
Donation protected
Aloha everybody,
On August 8, 2023, the devastating fires began to engulf the beautiful town of Lahaina, Maui. Businesses, landmarks, homes, and most importantly lives were taken away in the span of hours. During the most tragic and chaotic times of the fire, Kai lost his home and belongings while attempting to combat the fire and save lives.
There has already been an amazing support system of friends, family members, and distant, caring strangers who have donated money via Venmo but there are many outstanding people reaching out to me to create another platform to support Kai in these trying times.
For those who don't know Kai, he is one of the most generous, unselfish, hard-working, and level-headed people I've ever known. He consistently stands for what is right and puts others before him, whether he has any affiliation to them or not. He is the definition of a hero in my book and is someone I look up to and hold in the highest regard. To paint a picture of who he is, after fighting the fires tirelessly for days, he went home to rest then drove back out during his "span of days off" to deliver needed supplies, such as medicine, gas, food, and water. His heart is hurting for the community that he serves and so I hope that we can show him the love and support he deserves.
Thank you in advance for anything you're able to give. He doesn't even know that we are creating this goFundme because if I asked him, his selfless character would discourage me to do so. I am just praying and hoping that we can build on the already overflowing support for him so he knows how much the people in his life love him and how thankful we are to have a person like him in this world.
Mahalo Nui Loa (thank you very much),
