Maui Fires You Can Help Kari McCarthy Rebuild
Donation protected
Aloha we are Maui artists and dear friends of Kari McCarthy. She can not advocate for herself because she is still fighting to save her cottage from the fires after the loss of her house. Every day this week she sleeps at a family members then fights the fires with help from some amazing community members
Kari McCarthy has been a special and active member of the Maui community for years. She opened a graphic design firm that worked with many businesses on Maui including the Cultural Center where she produced their Centerpiece Magazine. Then she went on to build the biggest publication for the arts on the island, Maui Art Guide and also On Maui, a wonderful guide to events around the island. All the while she continued to paint her etheral cloudscapes.
Kari has been a generous supporter of charities and artists across the island
When Covid hit her pubication businesses folded. Then she became the primary caregiver for her wheelchair bound mother and a year ago her husband died.
When we heard the news that Kari lost her house we were over taken by grief. How can someone so generous and kind have to endure this much loss. But we can not control the circumstances, we can only help when we are called.
We are asking anyone who reads this to people help with a cash donation. Kari pays for continuous care for her mother and now she needs to rebuild her life. Every cent of the money raise will go to Kari.
