Maui Kaanapali Villas Ohana Relief Fund
Maui Kaanapali Villas (MKV) Ohana Relief Fund was created to deal with the pressing needs of the employees and others who serve MKV on a daily basis. These include food, fuel, sundries, clothing, medical assistance, and the like. While many government and aid agencies are stepping in to help, getting access to their services takes time and is often difficult. We will fill this void to immediately help people and also meet needs that fall within the “cracks”. This is our Ohana.
MKV is a community of 256 condos, organized as a hotel condominium resort, that is located just 3 miles north of Lahaina, which was destroyed by the fire. We already know of over 20 families that work in our condo resort that have lost their homes and everything else. We also lost an employee that left behind an elderly mother who also needs our help. Our Ohana includes direct employees of MKV, employees working full time or nearly full time on property for vendors who serve MKV (such as Aqua Aston or Chasin’ Rainbows), and employees of our commercial properties (Castaway, Beach Shack, Concierge Desk, Spa) who cannot otherwise be aided by their employers.
We expect that most of the funds to be deployed will come from owners within the resort. But others have asked to help, and you may also contribute. Know that these donations and gifts are being overseen by MKV officers, board members, and selected other owners with good reporting and controls, so that not one dollar is wasted or misapplied.
