Maui Teacher with ALS
Donation protected
Aloha all,
One of our very own teachers, Kerry Gudmunson was recently diagnosed with ALS.
This is a rare and devastating Neuro Muscular disease more commonly known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease” after the baseball Yankee Great whose consecutive game streak ended at 2130 games after he was forced to remove himself from the lineup when his symptoms began.
This cause is near and dear to my heart ♥️as many of you may know that my own mother succumbed to this disease in 1995. I have since had two other dear friends that have also died from this disease.
My wish is to find a cure and put an end to this disease. In 2014, the Ice Bucket Challenge went viral and earned over $200 million for ALS research. There has been progress made, but it’s still not enough.
In the meantime, please help in any way that you can. Spread the word, build awareness, dump a bucket of ice water on your head! AND DONATE!!
I would like to raise money to help Kerry and her family with medical expenses, and just living expenses, as this disease is going to rob her of her ability to work and earn a living. I would also like to send a chunk of change to the ALS Association to find more research.
I put a goal of $10K, but we need more like $10 Billion- or whatever it takes to kick ALS once and for all.
Would you please consider a donation?
or… dump a bucket of ice water on your head and challenge 3 people to do the same?
