Maui United Way Fire Relief Fund

The essence of the Hawaiian spirit is 'ohana - family, a connection that stretches beyond bloodlines to include the land and sea. Today, that spirit calls out to us for help. The recent devastating fires in Maui have left a deep scar on the landscape and, more painfully, taken 99 souls with many more still missing. The impact of this tragedy is felt deeply by all of us, even thousands of miles away.

We, at the California Fresh Farmers Market Association, have always believed in the strength of community, unity, and the power of collective compassion. Today, we humbly ask you to join us in extending our hand to the people of Maui during this dire time.

We have set up a GoFundMe campaign to benefit the Maui United Way Fire Relief Fund, a fund dedicated to providing essential relief and humanitarian support to the victims of this heartbreaking incident. We earnestly request you to consider making a donation. Every dollar, no matter how small, will bring solace and support to those who've lost homes, family, and hope.

In a spirit of unity and aloha, we are also hosting a Luau Night Fundraiser event at the River Park Farmers Market on August 15th, 2023. We invite you to be part of this vibrant evening filled with music, dance, and delicious Hawaiian treats. We promise you a night of warmth, unity, and shared purpose. Furthermore, we pledge to donate 10% of all revenue from the event to the relief fund, ensuring that our combined efforts translate into tangible help for the victims.

When tragedy strikes, it often brings communities closer together. The spirit of 'ohana teaches us that we are all bound by a shared fate, a mutual responsibility to care for one another. Today, Maui needs that care. Let’s come together and make a difference.
