Maui Wildfire Relief Fund for Sensei Lahaina Jodo

First of all, let me express my sincerest sympathy and condolences to those who were victims of the Maui Wildfire Disaster in August 2023.

This fundraising project is mainly to support Lahaina Jodo Mission Sensei, Rev. Gensho Hara who has been an amazing minister of the Lahaina Jodo Mission since 1963. Together with his wife, Mrs. Setsuko, supporting children and members, he has served the Maui community excellently and promoted happiness and peace for all visitors at Lahaina Jodo Mission, regardless of race and faith.

Even after experiencing the devastation of the wildfire, he started services and prayers for all the victims. Rev. Hara and his Sangha need your assistance with donations as all Lahaina Jodo Mission buildings except Buddha statues were destroyed. With your donations, we will be able to support our Sensei, family, members, and friends of Lahaina Jodo Mission.

As I am one of the Jodo Shu Bishops who truly respect Hara Sensei, I decided to raise money to benefit Rev. Gensho Hara, his Sangha, and their relief efforts in Maui.

All funds raised here will go directly to the temple's account which is tax deductible with 501(c)3. Thank you very much for your support.
