Maui Fire Relief Funds

Aloha Maui Ohana~

The Maui fires have brought much loss and devastation to our island and communities. We want to help! 

Many of you have reached out to me personally and through the business, I AM-Institute of Awareness & Movement. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Martha-Carole Cotten. I have lived in Maui for 22 years and have my small business in Maui of a healing center. Our center has been fortunate to remain safe in the Maui Fires…others are not so fortunate. We have a mission to help our community and give back to Maui. 

While our prayers, energetic and physical help continue, the road of recovery will be long and arduous with this level of damage. 

We would like to offer a service that will allow for continuous donations and support. We have had an outpouring of love and support from around the world wondering where monetary donations can be made. 

We have decided to have an ongoing Gofundme setup, so that we can accept all donations for our benefit classes, benefit concerts and events, and simply from caring humans around the world to distribute directly to our Maui community. 

Since the timing is so acute, we aren’t choosing a specific “charity” to send funds to. We are a doing this fundraiser so that I can write a personal check from my personal bank account directly to an individual family who have lost their home…especially those who are displaced with small children. Our goal is to hand someone a $20,000 check. 

We would like to help get a family back on their feet again after such devastation and trauma. 

No monies raised will be kept by us for any reason whatsoever. 

A family will be chosen based on the severity of their needs:

A) loss of entire home 

B) loss of place to work 

C) number of children being supported 

D) not receiving any assistance from FEMA or Insurance 

E) a family that is staying on Maui and not moving to the mainland

The family with the greatest need will be selected. 

Thank you for your outpouring of love and willingness to help. Now we have a secure spot to accept monetary donations. Physical donations of canned food, pet food, baby diapers, formula, etc can be dropped off at our center in Haiku. We will do one larger delivery to drop off centers as supplies build, helping to keep traffic and drop off crowds to a minimum, or we will deliver them personally to people in need. 

Our hearts are with you, Maui…and all of the islands…our beloved home, keeper of our hearts & families, and precious land that sustains life for all of who are blessed to live and visit here.
