Mauled by dogs: Nick, Stef & Buster need our help
Donation protected
On Sunday afternoon Nick and his 20-pound pup Buster were mauled by two large, unleashed, unsupervised dogs while walking home from the park. The dogs went straight for Buster, and only with the help of a neighbor was Nick able to stop the attack.
The episode landed Nick in the hospital with puncture wounds across his body, and Buster into intensive care at a series of vets in Savannah.
Nick & Stef have insurance for themselves and Buster, but the bills are growing fast, and we have no idea what company will eventually pay out. To make matters worse, the dog owners have been totally unresponsive, so Nick has to start anti-rabies treatment immediately — a painful set of treatments that could leave him unable to work his job and earn money to cover costs for days.
The vet says Buster is going to make it, but Nick & Stef need our help to get through this. Their bills have already topped $4,500 and are still coming in
Anything you can spare will help cover the costs of Buster's extended stay at the emergency vet, Nick’s lost wages during recovery and rabies treatment, and the time Stef has had to take from work to hold the family together.
Any money raised over what is needed to care for Nick, Stef, and Buster in this awful moment will be donated to One Love Animal Rescue, a Savannah based organization dedicated to helping abandoned, neglected, abused, and unwanted pets in the area.
