Fundraiser in lieu of flowers for Maureen Allen's funeral
Donation protected
For those wanting to donate in lieu of flowers for our mums funeral, we have set up an option to contribute to the Merton Memory Hub, which is a centre focused on supporting those suffering from dementia.
For the last 30 years, our mum has given up her spare time to work as a caregiver at various charities and organisations.
Through caring for an elderly gentleman suffering with Alzheimer’s named Peter, Maureen was introduced to the Merton Memory Hub. She was so taken back by the work that was done here to improve the life of people suffering with Alzheimer’s, through care, support, games and activities, that she started to volunteer here every week for the next 6 years until she passed away. All the way through her own Chemotherapy treatment, Glyn's passing, Covid lockdowns and her stroke. Making many great friends at the center along the way.
Please do not in any way feel obliged to donate. We just felt it more fitting to give to others, than purchase flowers that mum wouldn't get to enjoy.
With these donations we will work directly with the Hub to directly purchase something benefit the center, such as a bench or awning shade for their garden, With any leftover proceeds to go to help with the cost of an onsite defibrillator they are currently saving for.
