Support the Digan Family

We are the Henningsen family, and we are fundraising for the Digan family. For anyone who knows us, you know that Maureen has been a part of our family for over 10 years, and was like a second mom to our children (Hannah, Emily, and Owen). Maureen has known and cared for them since they were babies; she was their world, their rock, and loved them like her own. Maureen passed away suddenly on January 6th leaving her family, us, and her friends utterly devastated.

Maureen lived her life loving, caring for, and helping the people around her. She supported her aging mother and father, her husband, her three children, her siblings (and their children), her friends, as well as the children of others in her Park Ridge community. She was selfless in every aspect. People in her orbit were captured by her smile, her resiliency, her empathy, and her love. She was one of a kind.

We are beyond heartbroken, yet we feel lucky for every single second that we had her in our lives.

Like Maureen, to say the Digan family is one of a kind would be an understatement. Tom, Makayla, Tommy, and Declan are the kindest, most thoughtful, and selfless family we know. They all have given so much to our family, and our children are so fortunate to still have them as role models to aspire to.

The outpouring of love from Maureen’s community of family and friends has been tremendous. Many of you have reached out to ask how you can help; we have established this fundraiser to support Maureen’s family during this tremendously difficult time. We hope this serves to continue to build upon the future that Maureen and Tom have already started for their kids. All funds will go to the Digan Family.

Many of us will need to step up to replace just some of those selfless efforts that defined Maureen’s purpose. If anything, Maureen departs this world having taught us all: care for those around you. The least we can do to honor Maureen’s spirit is do the same.
