Maureen McCarthy-Gone too soon

We’d like to thank you for visiting our page for our beloved Maureen. Whether you knew Maureen, heard great stories about her or just came across this page, we appreciate you taking the time.
Maureen wore many hats. She was a daughter, sister, Aunt (a.k.a Titi), friend but most importantly she was a mother.
About 2 months ago Maureen found out that she had an aortic aneurysm. It was a shock to our family. She was scheduled to have open heart surgery in the next few months.
Unexpectedly on the morning of December 28th, 2022 - Maureen suffered a stroke and passed away.
Many of you dont know, that on that morning her mother fell and hit her head and passed out. Maureen and Barbara who live right next door rushed over as soon as they got the call. They got mom up and 911 was called. Aunt Jenny got there when the ambulance did, and followed behind to meet mom at the hospital. Maureen told Barbara she wasn't feeling good and she sat down. Barbara was calming Dad down. When she went back to check on Maureen, she was outside passed out. She had no pulse. She was brought to the ER right behind her mother. It was too late to save her, she was already gone to her resting place. This was not supposed to happen. We did not get a chance to say goodbye. She just finished celebrating Christmas with her family and was looking forward to the New Year, but was called home too soon. She's now an angel to so many of her loved ones and is survived by her son Jordan.
If anyone knows Maureen they know she was a social media influencer in her own way. She joined many support groups, and was an inspiration to so many people around the world. So many people have reached out to us with their condolences that we don't even know because of their relationship with Maureen via social media. Its so comforting to know how loved she was and the positive impact she had on their life's. She had a heart of gold and worked so hard in order to help anyone when she could, so we want to be able to return that favor.
Therefore, the purpose of this page is to help continue to support Maureen’s son with all the things his mom helped him out with. With this sudden loss, finding his footing is going to take some time. Your donations will help him to pay for his health insurance, daily living expenses and memorial services for his mom.
As a family we opted to hold a celebration of life ceremony instead of a traditional funeral for Maureen. The ceremony will be Saturday February 4th at 1pm at St. Mary's church in Far Rockaway. If anything changes we will keep everyone updated.
We want to thank you for taking the time to read a small portion about our Maureen and deeply appreciate any donations and support during this devastating time.
Please remember Maureens infectious laugh, great sense of humor and tell your family and friends everyday how much they're loved, because life is so short.
"Blessed are
they that mourn: for they
shall be comforted."
