Maurice Parris

Today we are sad to announce that on November 28, 2022, we had to say goodbye to Maurice Parris. The hearts and spirits of our family, friends and acquaintances are broken with his passing. Maurice passed away peacefully in Toronto, ON. A young man who left us way before his time. While God will help mend our hearts over time, we must first accept and deal with the grief and loss of a young, vibrant family member.

Everyone who knew Maurice knew exactly who he was. They knew he was passionate, smart, funny, athletic, among many other great qualities. Maurice was just naturally gifted in so many ways, it showed. From the impressive brickwork he recently started doing and was so proud of, to the magic he produced every time called music, or just dancing in a room full of people at the party, Maurice loved it all. Even more than life he loved, Meeah Rose and Charlee Cartwright, his daughters, with his whole heart. If Maurice called you a friend, there isn’t anything he wouldn’t have done for you! I guarantee whatever relationship you and Maurice shared, it was filled with smiles, laughs, and lots of jokes. Let's remember Maurice for all the wonderful moments that were made together.

At 34 years of age, his presence will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his mother Kelly Parris, Halifax and Carie Willis (Amelda), Montreal; two young daughters, Meeah Rose and Charlee Cartwright (Halifax); and siblings, Jermaine Parris (Halifax), Kalum and Nykeal (Montreal), Tyrell (Dartmouth), Kaleah Parris (Halifax), Damita Borden (Toronto), Shericise, Britney and Katelyn (Montreal), and several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunties. Funeral arrangements are underway at this time.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to lay a child to rest. Any donations to support funeral arrangements bringing Maurice home from Toronto and the family during this difficult time are welcomed and deeply appreciated.
