Maverick's Unfortunate Situation

Maverick is a dog that has been in foster care for a year without any adoption interest :( Maverick had the unfortunate idea to escape his foster's yard this morning, and in doing so, got into an altercation with a leashed small dog. As Maverick was loose, Maverick is the one at fault. As a result of the altercation, little Sparky was rushed to the vet with a collapsed lung and a $15,000 bill which we must pay, as the owner of Maverick. Unfortunately, despite best efforts, Sparky passed away in surgery last night :( Despite the loss of Sparky, the bill must still be paid. Plus, now aftercare (cremation, memorial pieces for the family)

Maverick IS NOT dangerous - he just does not like other dogs, particularly small ones. He is ok with the dogs in his foster home after months of training, and he does really well at all our public events, including the one he was just at on Saturday! This was just an unfortunate situation due to a gate accidentally left open by the yard crew. It could happen to anyone!

Funds will be going directly to Maverick's foster home as they are generously fronting the expense as we simply do not have it! The $15,000 has been paid, and we need to reimburse the foster ASAP for this!
