Max Benjamin Legacy Fund
Donation protected
Max Benjamin, a man of strength, amazing foresight and generosity. His love for Papua New Guinea, it’s people, the dive and tourism industry was immense. He worked tirelessly to promote diving in Papua New Guinea, not just in his beloved Kimbe Bay, but in the entire country.
He has built up a community around Walindi, with support for his local staff by way of accommodation, training, livelihoods, medical support and of course, his namesake education facility, the Max Benjamin Elementary School and the Walindi Primary School.
His combined passion with Cecilie was setting up and maintaining the operation of Mahonia Na Dari conservation centre which focuses on youth marine education and conservation initiatives. Since the inception of the organization in 1997, MND has reached out to more than 150,000 students and teachers, local communities and other organizations who are interested in marine education.
He also formed and headed the Papua New Guinea Divers Association back when scuba diving and tourism in Papua New Guinea was a fledgling attraction.
With the recent passing of Max many of his friends around the world have reached out to us to offer support to our family but also wanting to help with the various programs Max had set up.
This page will remain open for anyone who would like to donate and funds will be used to to support and expand his legacy he had spent so many years building.
