Please help our family during this tragic time!

We need you ‼️

My mother Maxine Cameron has just passed last week Nov 29, 2023. My mom was very sick, on dialysis, she had MS (multiple sclerosis) diabetic, and had other heart issues. All she wanted was to go to Jamaica (her home land) to just enjoy 2 weeks on the island to herself.

Unfortunately, the day before she was supposed to come back home here in Florida she fell ill and was admitted to the hospital there in Jamaica. Because my mom has never been to a hospital in Jamaica they did not have her medical records and did not understand her condition. She was not able to be transferred from there back here to America because she did not get the insurance when she bought her plane ticket. Things were getting critical and her heart stopped beating for 10 minutes, at that time the doctors were able to resuscitate her and bring her back which had her in a coma and on life support. They had to cut open her throat and put a trache in to help her breathe. Through that difficult time I was able to make frequent trips to and from Jamaica to bring her necessary supplies and visit her for love and support I even shut down my business to help her and to travel. If you have travelled then you know that tickets are not cheap!! My mom was in ICU for 3 entire months.

Finally after doing so much better she was realeased from ICU and was brought down to the ward were she pretty much was on her own because the hospitals in third world countries do not have the supplies, or professionalism that we here in America receive and are used to, and if you have no one there to help bring you food, clothes, or even clean sheets then you are pretty much on your own. We have family there but with their busy life they were not able to be with her every moment of the day especially at the fact that they were 2 & 3 hours away from where she was. She was realeased on Friday to the ward.

So she called me on Sunday and her last words to me were “Jamie, come and get me because these people are going to kill me in here”, I said “mommy I’m coming please give me a few days I will be there I love you. Do you remember me coming the other times?” She said “no, but I need my family and I’m ready to come home.” I said, “I’ll be there in a few days, I love you” she said “I love you too”.

So I planned on leaving Tuesday but had no one to pick me up at the airport so I changed it to Wednesday afternoon. Thats when I got the call at 7:08 am that she passed at 5am Wednesday morning, the same day I was supposed to get her. I’m so sick to my stomach right now writing this.

Because my mother died out of USA, I am not getting any financial help from the facilities here. I am all out of funds and I just need financial help. Raising my 3 children, taking care of my household, working, and dealing with this is too much for me. I want to give up so bad. She died alone, in pain and suffering.

I am asking that if you can, please help us with anything to go towards Flight expenses, funeral and memorial services and to be able to bring her back here to the USA. I am accepting payments via:

This is also a lesson that if you are traveling out of the country please buy the insurance when you book your ticket because it does not only cover your air fair, or luggage but if you get sick depending on the type of insurance you purchase you will be able to have an emergency airplane that can transfer you back to America. That covers $50k. Sadly my mom didn’t get it because she didn’t know.
