Patrick’s medical bills

Hey! Colleen here, Pat’s sister. He’s been in an accident and has a head injury. He is stable, but he needs monetary support for testing, hospital stay and future expenses. Anything you can give is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

First and foremost, thank you thank you thank you for your generosity and support during this time. Also, thanks for your jokes! Pat received some doozies! :)

I am sitting here typing this with tears in my eyes. Pat and I have been a super tight brother/ sister duo since we’ve been kids and to imagine that this could have turned out WAY worse makes me nauseous. He is SO. VERY. LUCKY. A change of a ⅛” or less in the accident and he could have lost his eye, had severe brain damage, or worse. We could have lost him on that day two weeks ago.

There is a reason he is still here with us and please know that he is so very grateful for the abundant love that he has been receiving and the friendships that are only getting stronger.

I created this GoFundMe page only hours after hearing the news. At that point, we had no clue what was in store for him, but after all the emergency care he received, the doctor and surgeon consultations, and being able to recover at my house with my husband and I and Mom here for extra support, he will be returning to his home in Oakland this evening.

My intention was for him to fully focus on his recovery and not on the uncertainty of bills piling up. The funds raised will cover his hospital expenses, emergency care and plastic surgery bills. This money has been pivotal in his care and our family is forever grateful for your generosity. Again, thank you so much.

The overall experience has been traumatizing and overwhelming for him. His recovery is far from over. He has spoken about the change of his perspective on life, being grateful for being here, and his desire to move forward with grace. As his recovery progresses, I would please ask to give him privacy about the accident. When he is ready to talk about it, you will know. Thanks again.

**UPDATE 7/23** - Pat was released from the hospital and will be staying with us in Sacramento for however long he needs.

**UPDATE 7/22** - His eyes and teeth are okay and his CT scan came back normal. This is GREAT news! He does, however, have major orbital and temporal fractures. He will most likely be needing multiple facial reconstructive surgeries, all TBD. Again, thank you for your support.
