Maxton's Battle with DIPG #GoMax
Donation protected
On 1/14/2025, Maxton was diagnosed with DIPG—a tumor that develops in the brain stem, typically in young children. The brain stem, specifically the pons, is what controls all of our motor functions, as well as life functions such as swallowing and breathing. It is considered a rare pediatric cancer.
Max is my nephew and the sweetest kid I know. He's been focused on returning to school where he's been taking 9th grade classes and excelling. He wants to get back to racing, which has become a big part of his young life. He does not want anyone to worry about him and is the first person I have ever heard of, thanking OR staff.
The road ahead is uncertain; pathology results are pending. Our hope and prayer is that Max will qualify for clinical trials. This will mean traveling and extensive time off for Nicole and Josh. Many have reached out and asked how they can help. My hope in creating this is to ensure that we ease the only worry we can.
