On February 2, 2020 the world suffered the terrible loss of a spirited, caring, brilliant & gifted young man. Max’s beautiful life was cut short when he passed away in a tragic car accident caused by a medical condition. He was a junior at Auburn University studying Mechanical Engineering and also worked at Mercedes-Benz in Vance, AL through a cooperative work/study program. Max was a 2017 graduate of Vandegrift High School in Austin, TX and a percussionist and student leader in the VHS Viper Band.
Max was an infectious personality and lit up every room he entered. He had a gift of making instant, meaningful and deeply personal connections with everyone he met. His ability to accept people for who they were, extend friendship to all, positively impact the lives of others, and live a genuine, authentic life was boundless and unmatched. He touched the hearts and lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He treasured the relationships with his family, friends, fellow students, teachers, and all those that surrounded him.
Max will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his three siblings, Isabel, Henry & Alex, and his parents Ed & Denice. In the spirit of Max's love for people, life and strong conviction of leading the world to a better place, he would want to leave a legacy for others to help carry on the ideals he so passionately lived every day. To that end, the Fink Family is establishing a Memorial Fund to create a legacy in Max’s honor that will provide scholarships to assist others in pursuit of their dreams. His spirit will live on, we will all light up and smile when we think of him, and his memory will be forever present through the gifts provided by his Memorial Fund, as Max was truly a gift to all of us.
Max, until we meet again, War Eagle!
