May Peloton Challenge
Tax deductible
The past few months have been life changing for nearly everyone, and one of the activities that has sustained me through it all has been exercise. Many of you know that I love to ride my bike, and more recently I have been particularly excited about the Peloton that we purchased in 2019. As we approach May and yet another month of uncertainty, I wanted to put my exercise routine to a good purpose to help others affected by the pandemic and economic downturn, and maybe drag a few of you along with me.
For the month of May, I will donate $3 to charity for every virtual mile I ride on my Peloton (I typically average about 20 miles/hour). Proceeds will go to Metropolitan Ministries, which provides food and essential services to families most in need during times of crisis. I hope by including you on this email, I might motivate you to get involved in one of two ways:
1 - Ride, run, or walk with me. Take the same challenge, commit to an amount for relief in your local community, and go the distance! For those choosing to do this via Peloton, send me your screen name and I’ll compile a leaderboard for those participating.
2 - Support my local campaign by pledging a flat amount or $ per mile ridden.
I realize there are a lot of worthy "asks" right now and many of you have already given generously, so if you just want to do the exercise to show support and focus on your wellness in May - that's great!
I appreciate the consideration and support, and I hope everyone is managing well during these difficult times.
