Maya while in the hospital

Maya is a fun loving charismatic girl who will give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She can make anyone’s bad days good and can make you laugh even on your worst days. Mid January Maya developed a sharpe pain on her right side through her back and ribs which resulted in multiple hospital visits but was determined to be a muscle tear. As time went on the pain got worse and she developed a cough, this was enough for the doctor to order an xray but came back as “normal” and would heal itself. The pain and cough progressed and that’s when her fevers started. An urgent blood scan was ordered followed by an urgent CT which came back and confirmed she had pneumonia. Antibiotics were prescribed and she was told she will be back to normal in a couple of days. The fevers never went away and 2 days later during the night things got worse, she was unable to breathe or move. Maya was rushed to the ER, after several tests it was determined that her lung had collapsed and she has extremely infected fluid between her lung and ribs. Now the doctors have installed a tube through her chest to drain the fluid but is not draining as they have hoped, they are determining what the next move is but surgery is on the table. She is at risk for serious permanent lung damage. Maya is currently hospitalized for at least two weeks but could be an undetermined amount of time, leaving her off work and missing her non refundable trip coming up. This is going to be a long road to recovery. She is everyone’s favourite hair dresser and until she can get back to making everyone look their best we are asking anyone to donate what they can to help with Maya being off work for an undetermined amount of time.
