Well that was unexpected

Hi. I’m Katie Allison. I have been out of work since the beginning of May.
I went to the ER on May 6th thinking that i had a bowel obstruction. Had a CT, and the found an ovarian mass, abnormal looking omentum, and a large amount of ascites. The oncologist was pretty sure i had ovarian cancer. There is no history in my family, so if you start having weird abdominal symptoms, get to the doctors. My symptoms were bloating, feeling full after eating very little, nausea, constipation and abdominal swelling.
I had my first paracentesis the following week, and they drained a liter of fluid. The next week they drained 1800ml, and they did a biopsy of the omentum. The fluid came back with just inflammation. The biopsy came back with inflammatory cell, but also some mesothelial cells, that can lead to cancer. I thought the almost 2 liters of fluid was bad, well the next week they drained 6 liters!! i couldn’t walk in the hospital. Mom had to roll me in. I couldn’t breathe. I was pouring sweat. I was a hot damn mess. I had literally gained 16 pounds in 3 weeks. After the 6 liters came off, i lost 12 pounds . For surgery, he drained another 2 liters of fluids. The biopsy came back as diffuse B cell non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
I am going to do R-CHOP. I started my first round of chemo on 6/20, and I’ll do 6 rounds in total.
My insurance is not wanting to pay for my Neulasta after chemo each time. This prevents me from going back to the office or hospital after each round of chemo.
So i hate to ask, but any donations are welcome.
