Mayfield / Chilos Employee Relief Fund

In 2012 Mayfield opened its doors to the community of Crown Heights, and since then we’ve always striven to foster a presence that is both welcoming and take pride in the fact that many of our employees have come from the community. We’ve celebrated marriages, welcomed births and even bid a few friends farewell, and through it all we’ve always known that Mayfield, for many, is more than just a restaurant, which is why having to shutter our door this past Monday truly hurt. Not only were the staff of Mayfield losing their source of income, but many were now without a place they’ve been coming to, through all the good and bad in their lives, for years. What we as a community and country are now facing is not something that most of us have ever dealt with before. It is a complete unknown, and with so many uncertainties the fear of losing one’s home, or inability to provide for one’s family due to the loss of livelihood, is not something anyone should have to endure in such frightening times.

We are doing everything we can to make sure that those who are employed by both Mayfield and our sister restaurant Chilo’s, remain unscathed but know that we can only do so much. For this reason we have decided to create a GoFundMe as a pool that can be doled out to all of those who are now facing the loss of income due to the restaurant’s closure in hopes of mitigating the spread of coronoa virus / COVID-19. What ever you can possibly give will be greatly appreciated by all concerned.
