Mayor Tracy Brabin to run Leeds Half Marathon

Inspired by West Yorkshire rugby legends Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield, I’ll be running the Leeds Half Marathon on the 14th of May.

Following Rob’s Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis in 2019, the pair have worked tirelessly to raise money to support others affected by MND and fund vital research.

It has not been an easy journey for either of them.

Kevin has stood by Rob and his family’s side and the two friends have shown courage, strength and the meaning of true friendship which has inspired people across our region, and across the country.

In running this marathon, I’ll be helping their cause by raising money for the Rob Burrow MND Centre Appeal as well as Leeds Women's Aid - another cause close to my heart.

The Leeds Half Marathon is a fantastic occasion and I can't wait to take part. I even joined Leeds Rhinos and the Leeds Rhinos Foundation recently for a training session ahead of the big day!
