Memorial Fund for Mayra Cruz

Donation protected
On February 4, 2016, Mayra left for work to teach her students at Lake Trafford Elementary School in Immokalee.   Approximately around 8:00 am, she was found on the floor unconscious in her office by a co-worker. Her co-worker immediately called for help and Mayra was rushed to the nearest hospital. While in transport Mayra started to have complications and they diverted her to Naples Community Hospital for treatment.   Upon her arrival at NCH in Naples she was rushed into emergency surgery. Family and friends arrived and learned Mayra suffered a major brain aneurysm.   After addressing the ruptured blood vessel, Mayra remained sedated to allow for healing.  The following week was difficult for family and friends, and we started to miss the happy, spunky Mayra we all knew.  Throughout that week, she would take a step forward, but then two steps back.  But we all remained hopeful that she would pull through, as she was a tough, determined women!  We know our prayers were not overlooked, but yet God had a special place for her.  Mayra was granted her angel wing's on February 11, 2016.

She leaves behind her three children, Mayra Michelle, 25,  Ronald Kenneth, 22, and Amikael, 15.   Since Mayra was their sole provider, their 'rock', and their everything, these children are trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces and keep going.  This is just as their mother would wanted them to do.    The children wish to remain together, and need your help to do so.

They will need to pay the rent, car payments, insurance, pre-existing medical bills, student loans, and all the other household bills.  Th oldest two children hope to provide for the youngest sibling, and support him through school & sports.  While Amikael is still in high school, Mayra and Kenny are both college students, and have full and part time jobs.

We know Mayra has placed great morals into her children.  Mayra was hard-working, determined, strong, and dedicated.  We know her children witnessed how hard she worked to provide for their needs.  She was even working an afterschool program to help pay off their student loans.  Mayra wanted her children to be successful members of society and be able to support themselves, but no one knew that they would need to do that so soon.

Michelle, Kenny, and Amikael would be so grateful if you could help out in any way.  Many family and friends are asking what they can do to help, and to be honest, being their financially is what they really need at this time.  They have alot of healing to do, and should not have to be stressed over bills.

Please give whatever you can to help this family remain together.
