help Mayreau rebuild from hurricane Beryl

Donation protected
St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been struck by a category 4 hurricane (Beryl) on July 1, 2024, wreaking havoc on its way through. Mayreau, one of the smallest islands of the southern grenadine experienced near total destruction (90%) as it was hit directly. A hurricane of this magnitude has an intensity of 130-156 mph winds.

The people of Mayreau (population of 300) were left Heartbroken, DEVERSTATED and most, practically homeless by this unprecedented natural disaster. There was no way one could have actually prepared for such a catastrophic disaster.

There is little to no communication with phone connections and internet down, making contacting family and friends nearly impossible.
Homes, restaurants, stores, the clinic, churches and the only early development centre for our youngest learners and primary school have been destroyed or severely damaged.

This fundraiser is being organised by Leading Hand Ollivierre (born and raised on Mayreau) currently serving in the British Royal navy, working in conjunction with Mrs Nadia Ollivierre (Early learning educator) in Canada, UK based shipping agency (Waypoint enterprise Ltd) , We Are Mayreau Inc (WAM) and other organisations. We would be organising the funds and find the best and fastest possible way to get the necessary supplies to the affected people.
All funding and generous contributions would go towards providing shelter, food, clothing, medical supplies, and rebuilding homes and infrastructure where possible. We would be prioritising the elderly and young children (babies/ toddlers), as they would be more at risk of getting injured and or illness.

Redevelopment of our beloved Mayreau, will happen 1 prayer. 1 share. 1 day. and $1 at a time. Let’s rebuild, uplift and make Mayreau beautiful again.

Thank you in advance.

One of the oldest churches in the western hemisphere now reduced to rubble (as seen above).

Update

There has been some conformation and statistics from some locals on the grounds after doing a full survey and assessment of the Island. Stats shows that:
There were 32 full wooden houses on the Island and all of them were totally destroyed. Out of 89 concrete houses counted, 62 has lost there roof and would need replacing, and 11 would need a full structural rebuild from foundation up. There is severe damage to the power station of the Island and would be atlest 3 months before they can restore electricity.

There has been some aid from other neighbouring countries in support, heart felt thank to them and to those who as contributed towards the disaster relief development thus far. Most of the elderly has now been placed in shelter along with the mothers of the younger children/ babies. There is still alot more that needs to be done and alot is still needed, so please, let's keep working together to help rebuild and regain some sort of normality of an everyday life/ living.
