Jesus at The Center Retreat May '17
Donation protected
The Jesus at The Center Retreat this year will take place during the Memorial Day weekend. We are not organizing an August Annual Youth Retreat. We are grateful for all the contributions in 2016 where we were able to celebrate 40 years of ministry. Now, we're set to write a new narrative! JESUS AT THE CENTER will be the overall focus of our efforts. Our program logic will be both intergenerational and developmental where one adult for every four participants ages 10-17 from each church will create sacred space for in-depth conversations.
We invite you to enter into this partnership by making a pledge of financial support to our shared life and ministries. On May 26-29, 2017 we will be celebrating the "IT'S NOT ABOUT ME!" Youth Convocation forapproximately 100 youth. For more information visit www.annualretreat2017.com.
These events are meant to examine the opportunities for relevant youth and young adult ministries that focus on the integration of young people and church development today and for next five to ten years.
Your commitment in response to God’s blessings makes a tangible impact on our worship, community life, and outreach to our neighbors for the present and future goals. This ministry is on the verge of being a powerful instrument for and with our congregations with your assistance.
Here are some comments from past campers and staff who have attended the Annual Youth Retreat:
"Building relationships while being in the presence of God is a primary reason why we wish to celebrate. Through nature, fellowship, and breaking bread together, we will learn about God's Word in our lives and experience people where they are!"
-Jennie Lee Salas
"My passion for serving generations of children, youth, and young adults who are now leaders in their communities, all over this country and world is founded upon my Lord who is truly the center of my life."
-Victor Aloyo, Jr.
"Your family is there, God has presented Himself to us, and we share Common Ground at the camp. No matter where we come from, we all come to be united under the power of God." -Israel Hewitt
What is a Pledge?
A pledge is your commitment to making a financial gift that supports the mission of this Emerging Generations Ministry. Pledging is a response to God’s call and abundance in our lives: it is a statement of thanksgiving.
What happens to the money I give?
Your pledge supports everything we experience at the Annual Retreat Convocation and for future leadership retreats. We wish to cover our program costs, develop a scholarship pool to assist youth in paying the fees for May 26-29, 2017, and provide for an Emerging Leadership Fund where future seminars and retreat experiences can be organized throughout the year for young adults ages 18-35.
