Donation protected
Following the explosion that destroyed Beirut on Tuesday August 4th, Mayrig restaurant is gone.
They need your help to re-build.

Being located across from the port, both the restaurant and offices were completely blasted – to the core.
They are gone, and with them the livelihood of 85 peoples – feeding 85 families.

Most employees were injured, 25 hospitalized and 30 lost their homes.
Luckily, they had no casualties.

Mayrig is an institution with a mission, that of safeguarding the Armenian culinary heritage.
Founded in 2003 by Aline Kamakian, it traces her family history all the way back to Musa Ler.
Being the first proudly labeled Armenian restaurant, it gave a voice to the Armenian mothers who became the heart of its kitchen.

Being based in Lebanon, Mayrig has gone through its fair share of hardship, wars, corruption, pandemic and social / political and economic crisis.
They have stayed open throughout – struggling just to keep their employees afloat.
_______________________________________________________
Today they are faced with a new reality, that of the restaurant being gone.
Due to the absence of social benefits, work opportunities and inflation in Lebanon, 85 families will be left out with zero means of living … unless Mayrig is rebuilt – fast.

The funds donated will be used to:
- Rebuild the restaurant and its offices
- Provide for the Mayrig families that are homeless and in need
- Cover the medical bills of Mayrig’s injured, one of which is in a critical state and might need assistance for years to come.
No amount is too small – but it’s critical.
On behalf of our friends at Mayrig Beirut we thank you for your generosity and constant support.
