The Murphy Family
Donation protected
On May 30th, Jen, Shane and Gracie Murphy of Lunenburg lost everything. While enjoying an afternoon out on their back deck, a fire broke out and quickly engulfed the entire back of their home.
Fortunately, no one was hurt and the fire did not spread to neighboring homes. However, the house and most of its contents were destroyed. (as you can see by the pictures).
We are reaching out to the community to ask for help in any way possible. Donations are sought to help fund down payments for temporary housing, clothes, furniture, home items, food, etc.
Sadly, this is the second life changing loss the family has suffered in the last several years. In February 2016, their beloved husband/father Bill passed away suddenly and unexpectedly leaving Jen as a single mom.
Shortly after Bill passed away , Jen selflessly chose to take guardianship of a family members newborn, sweet Gracie, and give her a stable, loving, family home.
And, in another act of family support, the following year Jen took in another family member, who became terminally ill, and as a single mom cared for him too, until he passed away.
Having finally begun to pick up the pieces in their lives, the Murphy family is now preparing for Shane‘s high school graduation and start at Northeastern University this fall.
Victims of fires face tremendous emotional stress and financial costs, and we hope this fund will help alleviate some of the challenges the Murphy’s will face as they once again move on to rebuild their lives, prepare to send Shane to college, and continue to care for
3-year-old Gracie.
Jen has always given to others in need without hesitation, and we are hoping the community can help her care for herself and her children in this great time of need.
