Hey everyone! My name is Alex Leeder and I'm a 21 year old trans man living in Columbus, OH. I've been on testosterone for a bit over a year now (3/7/17) and I've decided that it's really time to start planning for top surgery. My chest is my #1 main source of my dysphoria and now that it's summer time, that's being amplified ten-fold (binders are super duper hot and sweaty and cause lots of chest acne!). I'd really appreciate if you could help me save for this life changing surgery that I absolutely need for my mental health and to help complete my transition. I plan on going to Dr. Daniel Medalie in Cleveland, OH mostly because he's so close to me which cuts way down on travel costs, but also because I believe that he has some of the best results for double incision on larger chested people who choose to get top surgery. I also do not have health insurance that will cover the cost of top surgery, so that does not have a hinderance on what surgeon I would choose. Below is the breakdown of the costs and why I'm asking for the amount that I am. Thank you so much and I appreciate you taking the time to read this.

Why I'm asking for $8,000:
$65 - Dr. Medalie's top surgery consultation fee.
$7,700 - This is the top amount that Dr. Medalie estimates that the surgery, anesthesia, and post-op care will amount to (this amount will likely change after consultation and I will edit this GoFundMe campaign accordingly after said consultation).
$235 - Travel & other fees, which includes gas for transportation, and also to account for associated GoFundMe transaction fees.
I will be saving for this surgery myself as well, and will periodically be donating my own saved funds to this GoFundMe campaign, this is just a very easy way of keeping things organized while also allowing the people in my life who would like to help a place to send their donations. I will ONLY be using this money for top surgery, and if there are any leftover funds after surgery, they will only be going towards transition fees. (testosterone, syringes and needles, etc.)
