Down ... But NOT Out
Donation protected
Being a teacher for me has always meant that once you are my student, you are ALWAYS my student. Which meant that even though I was your middle school teacher you can always reach out if you need me--no matter how much time has passed. While Sean (a former middle school student) and I have always kept in touch he recently reached out for some encouragement after having a series of life-altering events.
In 2021, Sean had a terrible car accident in the summer, followed by a heart attack in September, and then most recently on November 28th he was robbed outside of his apartment and suffered multiple stab wounds that resulted in several surgeries and a lengthy hospital stay.
Understand that this young man is an upstanding citizen, role-model for his students (as he is now a classroom teacher), and an all-around nice guy. He is a Christian and knows that God has kept him here for a greater purpose. But this last event has him feeling discouraged and a bit hopeless. While he may be down right now-- he is NOT out. But he does need your help!
The lasting effects from the trauma of being attacked at his home is causing the need to find another place to live. A safer place--one that offers peace of mind so that he can begin to heal. He is unsure of his next steps in life, but he will need a village behind him to help him get to the healing side of all of this. All money donated will be used to help Sean pay down unexpected expenses these tragic life-altering events have caused.
While I have given to countless GoFundMe campaigns, this is my very first time ever creating one. However, I feel like this platform was created to help in situations like Sean’s and I would be hard-pressed to find a more deserving person. Please consider donating to help a young teacher regain his footing as his life has recently been turned upside down.
** NOTE: The picture above was taken when I came to visit him in HIS classroom. Very few things could be me joy like seeing a former student teaching and leading the learning in his own classroom. **
