McAllister Park Irrigation

Hello, Greenmount West neighbors and beyond! We are raising money to install an in-ground irrigation system and drinking fountain in McAllister Park. Due to increased foot traffic over the past few years, the grass has been killed in much of the park. In springtimes past, we’ve spread seed to refresh the ground cover, but the new grass doesn't survive the summer once the hot, dry weather arrives in July. This is because it goes dormant in drought conditions, and then is worn down to nothing by the traffic.

But we now have the opportunity to run a water line into the park, and install an in-ground sprinkler system to sustain the grass when Mother Nature can't. With a water line in place, we can also install a drinking fountain for people and dogs.

We are applying for a grant to pay for the major work, and this GoFundMe is meant to work in concert with those funds, should we receive them. Your donation would help ensure that we have the money needed to complete the proposed scope of work.
