Here is a brief synopsis. On what is going on for Matt.
Sunday he went to CareNow because his throat was hurting really bad. They determined he had strep throat. They gave him anabiotic injections and steroid injections with antibiotic pills. Wednesday it was worse. He went to his dr. He said he had an abscess in his throat. He gave him more steroids and more antibiotic injection. He gave him pain pills and more anabiotics by mouth too. By Wednesday afternoon it was so unbearable he wasn't breathing well. Yard and they did a CT scan and it said he had a large abscess in his throat. Which we already knew that. They admitted him and said they would drain the abscess Thursday morning. It wasn't until Thursday afternoon they drained the abscess and it was full of blood and pus. We thought it would get better and he would be going home in the evening. Instead, it got worse. They told him they would do a tonsillectomy last night at 10 PM. When they went into do the surgery, they tried for over an hour to intubate him. They told me They almost had to put a tracheostomy in. When the doctor came out of the surgery he said he had a larger abscess in his trachea. They said if they took the tube out it would close out his airway. So, all the swelling in his neck is preventing him from getting the tube out of his throat. So for now he's on the ventilator and that is what breathing for him.
