McConkey Family Lost Everything- Uninsured Fire
Donation protected
On Tuesday, April 25th, our elderly mother and brother (Ruth and Stephen McConkey) lost everything in an uninsured house fire. Thank God no one was home and they are both safe. The home and garage are uninhabitable and everything within them was destroyed. They have lost all their personal belongings and meaningful family treasures. Stephen is a kind and generous person who sees the good qualities in others, and is always helping friends and family despite the many challenges he has faced. He has lost all of his tools, his van, and a lifelong collection of sentimental hunting and fishing gear. Sadly, they do not have insurance that will replace anything. They were both already faced with financial hardships prior to the fire and it is impossible for them to start over on their own. Ruth and Stephen, along with the rest of our family, are devastated as this fire has happened just 3 short months after unexpectedly losing our eldest brother, Allan Paul McConkey - Ruth's firstborn and the closest person in the world to Stephen. Unfortunately, he is no longer here with us to help Stephen through this. Purchasing insurance was on the to-do list, however mom and Stephen were completely overwhelmed with the loss of Paul and regrettably insurance was not purchased. This GoFundMe will help Ruth and Stephen start over from scratch and rebuild their lives after this incredible loss. Your kindness, love, and any monetary support during this difficult time are greatly appreciated. Please share this campaign with your friends and family and keep Ruth and Stephen in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you and God bless you!
