McDonald Family Home

I started this GoFundMe for my best friend, Desmond, and his beautiful family. His mom is a loving single parent, and adopted 2 young boys from the foster care system just last year. Both of the children already struggle with health problems (Cystic Fibrosis and ADHD), but that didn't keep their spirits down. Unfortunately, their home burned to a crisp from the inside out during a big storm a few nights ago. Sadly, the area of origin was situated directly below the living room's fireplace creating an even larger ignition point in the basement. Although firefighters were on the scene within 5 minutes, the flames were still too strong and had spread throughout the home prior to their arrival. All structural support for the house collapsed on the inside within 20 minutes. Luckily everyone is OK and made it out of the house just in time, including the family dog. The chances of being able to repair this home are small to none. This is a strong family with big hearts despite these challenges, and they are in much need of support after having to go through this heartbreaking event. Everything was destroyed except for 2 backpacks worth of clothes, and 1 pair of shoes from 1 single room. All items of furniture, simple family keepsakes, and necessities were completely wiped out from the flames. It's crazy to think how quickly things can be lost due to unforeseen circumstances.
